FoamGlas Insulation T-4

Product Description

FOAMGLAS® cellular glass insulation is 100 percent glass. It is an insulating material composed of millions of completely sealed glass cells.  It is manufactured from sand, limestone, and other abundantly available materials, as well as post-industrial recycled glass, gained exclusively from the automotive and construction industries and/or internally recycled glass.
In order to provide alignment with Environmental Choice NZ performance requirements, only following FOAMGLAS®-products are represented on EnviroSpec
T4 - 110mm thickness and above for wall applications
T4 - 150mm thickness and above for wall applications

The criteria applied are:
Global Warming potential less than 140
Wall products - minimum R-value of 2.5
Ceiling products - minimum R value of 3.4

Technical and Environmental Benefits

FOAMGLAS® cellular glass insulation contains no organic or inorganic binders. Used FOAMGLAS® insulation is inert and can be used as loose fill material at the end of its life. No blowing agent is used in the manufacturer of FOAMGLAS®, the cells are approximately 2/3rd vacuum and 1/3rd CO2 and this is a natural formulation caused by a small element of carbon and the oxygen in the glass meeting to form millions of hermetically sealed glass cells, and for this gas, the Ozone Depleting Potential (ODP) = zero .

FOAMGLAS® is totally impervious to any form of moisture and which will not burn, or give off toxic fumes or smoke. It is dimensionally stable, has high compressive strength, and is rot, insect, vermin and acid resistant. Manufactured only from crushed glass and carbon, it is totally inorganic and will not support the growth of mould, fungi or micro-organisms.
