Eco-Friendly Christmas Tips

Be Green All Year Round, Seasonal Tips

For many of us, Christmas lights on trees are essential seasonal decorations. While this creates a cozy, atmospheric glow , it does contribute to energy consumption.

Moreover, during Christmas, money is exceptionally tight and a lower electric bill may be a great Christmas present. Luckily, these days it is very common to be able to buy solar LED Christmas lights, which combine a small solar cell and a battery box. When the sun shines during the day it charges the batteries and in the evening the lights run off the stored power.

This helps reduce our energy spike from the Christmas trees…but what about the lighting in the rest of our house? Well… in essence it could be run exactly the same way. Maybe this year you could consider a solar + LED upgrade to your house as a special Christmas present? Or maybe as a New Year's resolution?
